Fire Protection Day in the Russian Federation is celebrated annually on April 30. This holiday is dedicated to people who risk their lives every day, protecting the population, property and nature from fires.

History of the holiday
On April 30, 1649, Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich signed the decree "On city decorum", which is considered the first legislative act regulating the activities of the fire service in Russia. Fire Protection Day was officially established by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 539 of April 30, 1999.

The Russian fire service is one of the oldest in the world. Its tasks include not only extinguishing fires, but also preventive work, rescue operations, and the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations.

The holiday reminds society of the need to respect the work of firefighters and comply with fire safety measures.
